Its pricing drew public criticism from SEO practitioners in 2026.
ZwayRank measures the same things: whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude name you, who they name instead, which pages they cite, and where Google ranks you. The difference is what happens next. The per-engine problem
Brand Radar's price scales with the number of engines you watch. Six engines is about $699 a month before the Ahrefs plan under it. That is a budget line for an agency, not for a founder. ZwayRank asks three engines on your own key, which costs cents per question per day, and spends the difference on doing the work.
What Ahrefs does better than anyone
Backlinks. If off-page is your whole strategy and you have a team to run outreach, Ahrefs is the index to buy. ZwayRank tracks your backlinks through DataForSEO and drafts outreach notes for the sources the engines cite, which is the part that changes AI answers; it does not try to be a backlink index.
A sensible split
