Workflows you run, or work that gets done.
Athena HQ is the closest thing to ZwayRank in spirit: it wants you to act on the data. The difference is who does the acting.
The short version. Athena is a good pick if you want structured to-do lists and a free tier to start. ZwayRank is the pick if you want the to-do list worked by a crew.
Athena HQ sells an Essential tier that is free (300 credits a month, 5 models), a Starter tier at $295 a month (3,600 credits, 8 engines, API, integrations, CSV export and a content agent), and Enterprise with the Citation Engine, a knowledge base, SSO and BI connectors. One credit is one AI response; extra credits are $100 per 1,250. Its Action Center generates structured optimisation workflows from the tracking data, and an "Ask Athena" copilot answers questions about it. The self-serve plan is limited to one country.
ZwayRank measures the same things: whether ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude name you, who they name instead, which pages they cite, and where Google ranks you. The difference is what happens next. A crew of twelve agents accepts the strongest gaps, writes the page, fixes the schema, plans the posts, publishes with your approval, and re-measures a week later. It runs every 30 minutes on your own model keys, and Pro is a one-time $50 for two brands.
| Side by side | ZwayRank | Athena HQ |
|---|---|---|
| Starting price | $0 for 7 days, then $50 once for two brands | Free with 300 credits; $295/mo Starter |
| How usage is metered | Your model keys at cost, one blended monthly cap | Credits: 1 credit = 1 AI response; $100 per 1,250 extra |
| Engines | ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude | 5 on free, 8 on paid |
| From data to action | Every gap becomes a task the crew accepts and completes | Action Center generates workflows; a content agent drafts |
| Publishes to your site | Yes, with your approval | No |
| Social | Yes, on request per workspace | No |
| Attribution | Google Search Console and GA4 when connected | Shopify and GA4 revenue attribution |
| Countries | Main market plus extra countries per brand | One on self-serve |
Checked 2026-09-08 against Athena HQ's public pages and the reviews listed at the end. Their plans change; ours are on the pricing page.
- A free tier that is genuinely usable to start
- Eight engines on paid plans
- Revenue attribution through Shopify and GA4
- The Citation Engine on Enterprise
- The workflow is executed by the crew, not handed back to you
- Publishing, images, schema and the live check on your own site
- Predictable cost: your keys at cost and one cap, not credits
- $50 once for two brands
Two products that agree on the problem
Both Athena and ZwayRank think a visibility score on its own is useless, and both turn the data into things to do. Athena's Action Center writes the workflow and its content agent drafts. ZwayRank's crew accepts the task, writes the page, commits it to your site, schedules it, verifies it, plans the social posts, and re-measures. The difference is the last mile.
Credits versus keys
Credits are simple until a big audit eats a month of them. ZwayRank runs on your own OpenRouter and DataForSEO keys with one blended cap; a call that would break the cap is refused and the record says so. What you see in the app is what the provider bills you.
Where Athena is clearly ahead
Eight engines, revenue attribution for stores, and a free tier that lets you look before you pay. If you sell on Shopify and want to tie AI mentions to revenue, that is a real feature ZwayRank does not have.
- You want a free tier to explore before paying
- You sell through Shopify and want revenue attribution
- You want workflows for a team that will execute them
- You want the execution done, not documented
- You want your model bill at cost with one cap
- You want pages on your own site and posts in your queue

Add one brand, get the first scan free, and see what the crew would do first. Keep Athena HQ for measuring if you like; the two do not fight.
Seven days. One brand. Your keys after the first scan.
